The rest of the portal is a workplace: Courses, Groups and Students show the whole operation. A student needs something else, and always the same thing: what to study, what to hand in, when the next class is and what has already been signed off. So they get their own section, and the school dashboard is not shown to them at all.
Five views
Overview. How much is hanging over them and what comes first. The queue is built from real moments only: stream meetings and assignment due dates. An assignment with no due date never joins the queue, and the stream panel says so plainly.
My course. The programme of their stream: modules and lessons in order, numbered straight through.
My assignments. Three piles: to do, under review, closed. Within a pile, by due date, with anything overdue honestly at the top.
My results. Finished attempts, scores, and a separate count of what is awaiting review.
My certificates. Numbers and a link to the verification page.
There are no "completed" ticks
The most common expectation is a tick against every lesson read. There is none, and that is a decision: the portal stores nothing about which lessons a person opened. Drawing those ticks in the browser would produce progress the school cannot see and that disappears when the student changes device.
Instead, next to a lesson stands something the portal genuinely has: the assignments attached to that lesson and the state of the student's work on them. The real mark of progress is not "read" but "handed in".
What is never shown
Other people's work and attempts. They are not in the server's answer at all.
The school's certificate register. A student is left with their own documents.
Invoices, legal details and school settings. Administration's business.
Invitations. An admin's list.
Personal settings
Name, city and colour scheme belong to the person rather than to the school, and they live under their name in the header — not in the Settings section a student cannot open.
The profile is shared with the Voone app: a name set in the portal is the name seen in a club in the app. There is no second name, and inventing one would eventually mean explaining why the same person is signed differently in a chat and in a logbook.
If a teacher lands in the student section
Only a person enrolled in a stream may submit work, so for teachers and admins this section is empty — and it says so rather than offering buttons that end in a refusal. To see the portal through a student's eyes you need a real enrolment: the portal has no "view as" switch.
