3D lessons

Forty breakdowns of manoeuvres: first the scene plays the whole thing, then you walk through it step by step.

3D lessons: categories and progress

“Learning → 3D lessons”. At the top is the counter of what is done, below are the categories: berthing, keeping clear, lights, emergencies. Each lesson shows how long it takes and whether it has been started.

How a lesson works

Auto-preview, step-by-step breakdown and “Check yourself”

1Auto-preview. On opening, the scene plays by itself for 10–15 seconds with the caption “Watch first, we will break it down after”. Watching is not compulsory — “Again” brings the animation back at any time.

2Step by step. The scene stops and the text below goes step by step, with dots to switch between them. Swiping the scene changes the step.

3Key points. The three or four things the lesson was opened for: “approach at walking pace”, “the rudder only works with way on”.

4Check yourself — a short check on the lesson’s topic, with “Next lesson” beside it.

How progress is counted

A lesson is not counted by time: the app counts the steps you have read and the tap on “Check yourself”. Read the breakdown, check yourself — the lesson is done, and that shows in “Learning” and in “Progress”.

Lessons are downloaded as an offline pack (“More → Offline downloads”). The section opens with an activation code.
