Before the start
1Tap the round Record button in the bottom bar.
2Choose how you are going: under sail or under engine. Engine hours are counted only in the second case.
3Pick the boat — the passage goes into its history and into its mileage.
4Fill in “From” and “To”. The start place is filled in from your location and can be corrected; the passage name is composed automatically.
5Tap Start.
The app needs access to location. If it has not been granted, the screen says so directly and offers to open settings.
While recording
The button becomes “Stop”, the time, the miles and the knots run at the top, and the track point counter sits below. Recording continues in the background: you can lock the screen and put the phone away. “Today” and the logbook show a “Recording” badge meanwhile.
The sail / engine switch works under way — the passage remembers both legs.
Finishing
“Finish” shows the summary: how far you went and in how long. There is a note field here too — one line about what you want to remember (“went north off the cape, we were sailing higher than expected”). “Save the passage” puts the record in the logbook.
If the recording was started by accident, the passage can be deleted from its own card.
